Where to go in Tokyo?
Japan’s most famous district is not famous for nothing! Tokyo is an exhilarating experience! With 33.5 million people just in Tokyo alone, the area is bustling with life and practically pulsating in energy! In Tokyo you can find both energy and solace. Shinto shrines adorn towering skyscrapers and give a sense of zen in the middle of all the noise. The traditional and modern coexist in perfect harmony.
So you have 3 days in Tokyo. How are you going to fit everything you want to do in the land of samurai punk rockers?
Day 1: Tokyo at First Glance
If you take the Tokyo Morning Tour, you will find yourself in the tallest self-supporting tower in the world, The Tokyo Tower. It stands 1092.52 feet tipping the Eiffel Tower by 43 feet. Up in Tokyo Tower, you can see everything Tokyo has to offer at first glance. You can do your photo ops at the Imperial Palace Plaza through Ueno and Akihabara to Asakusa Kannon Temple. You can do more shopping at Nakamise and Ginza and find an impressive pearl cultivation showroom at Tasaki Pearl Gallery.
You can do all that in the morning because after lunch, you could check out the famous Kabuki at Tokyo Kabuki-za. Kabuki is a traditional form of Japanese Theater that showcases an amazing array of costumes, makeup, song and dance. An Engligh language closed-circuit audio service is available for your convenience.
Sumo, Japan’s oldest sport dates back 1500 years. If you’re one who prefers something a little more hands-on and primeval you might want to check this out. These heavy weight guys eat around 20,000 calories every day, that’s about 10 times the adult daily requirement!
When the sun sets, you can go on the Tokyo Night Tour and Japanese Dinner. Sanju Sangendo is the right place to be to get the real deal on Japanese food. The night tour goes across Rainbow Bridge to Aqua City and then through Akasaka and Ginza. To cap the night with a breathtaking view and experience, the night tour ends in Roppongi Hills giving you a view of Tokyo at night.
Day 2: Bullet Train and Mt. Fuji
When one thinks of Japan, Mt. Fuji is one of the most frequent things that come to mind. The Mt. Fuji and Hakone Day Tour takes you from Tokyo via countryside and then up to Mt. Fuji 5th Station. Mt. Fuji stands 12,388 feet and when you reach there, you’d soon find out why it is one of the most iconic images that Japan has of its country. After lunch you can take a cruise on Lake Ashi, and then take a cable car ride in Mt. Komagatake, then to Odawara and then finally board the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) for your trip back to Tokyo.
Day 3: On to Nikko and Kamakura’s Buddha
The Toshogu Shrine and Mausoleum can be found at the entrance of the Nikko National Park. Japanese religious beliefs can be rooted here as both Shinto and Buddhist worship was practiced in the vast mountains and lakes, waterfalls and hot springs. The tour takes you to Irohazaka mountain road. Located at the foot of Mt. Nantai is Lake Chuzenji.
You can also spend the day doing the Kamakura Walking Tour. The Kotokuin Temple houses the Great Buddha towering at 37.4 feet high. The walking tour shows you the Hase Kannon Temple, a great view of the town and the Pacific Ocean. Feeling a little rustic? You can take a rickshaw ride to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine where you can likewise head on over to Komachi shopping street and choose from the arsenal of arts and crafts.

With all the buildings coming up in Dubai, land availability is becoming scarce. So, the Dubai land department is actually helping the land process quite a bit. This land department is supposed to take care of all the land transactions as well as the scarcity of land issue.
The Dubai land department allows the addition of land. For example, the combination of multiple pieces of land is called addition. Given the current trend in land usage, land addition is the only way to go about doing things. Otherwise there is no way that bigger buildings will come up. The LD or the Land Department of Dubai takes care of this business.
Since it was established in the year 1960, the Land Department has been busy taking care of all the land acquisitions as well as all sorts of land issues. The Land department evaluates the land values. The UAE or rather the Dubai Land department helped various folks with the land acquisitions and provided valuable advice regarding land transactions.
The Land department of Dubai gathered a whole bunch of data regarding land acquisition as well as land maintenance. The Land Department keeps track of the top 20 communities of the area. If you go to the website of the Dubai land department, you will find Daily transactions, monthly transactions, fees, schedules and various services related to the Dubai land.
Being one of the seven Emirates in the UAE, Dubai is actually a great location for buying land. This is probably one of the richest places in the world. So, it gives you all the more reason to buy land or rather acquire land in Dubai.
Dubai in 1990
The same street in 2003
Last year
Dubai is said to currently have 15-25% of all the world's cranes.
The Dubai Waterfront. When completed it will become the largest waterfront development in the world.
All of this was built in the last 5 years, including that island that looks like a palm tree
The Palm Islands in Dubai. New Dutch dredging technology was used to create these massive man made islands. They are the largest artificia l islands in the world and can be seen from space. Three of these Palms will be made with the last one being the largest of them all.
Upon completion, the resort will have 2,000 villas, 40 luxury hotels, shopping centers, movie theaters, and many other facilities. It is expected to support a population of approximately 500,000 people. It is advertised as being visible from the moon
The World Islands. 300 artificially created islands in the shape of the world. Each island will
have an estimated cost of $25-30 million.
The Burj al-Arab hotel in Dubai. The worlds tallest hotel. Considered the only
'7 star' hotel and the most luxurious hotel in the world. It stands on an artificial
island in the sea.
Hydropolis, the world's first under water hotel. Entirely built in Germany and then assembled in Dubai, it is scheduled to be completed by 2009 after many delays.
The Burj Dubai. Construction began in 2005 and is expected to be complete by 2008. At an estimated height of over 800 meters, it will easily be world's tallest building when finished. It will be almost 40% taller than the the current tallest building, the Yaipei 101.
This is what downtown Dubai will look like around 2008-2009. More than 140 stories of the Burj
Dubai have already been completed. It is already the worlds tallest man made structure and it is still not scheduled to be completed for at least another year.
The Al Burj. This will be the centerpiece of the Dubai Waterfront. Once completed it
will take over the title of the tallest structure in the world from the Burj Dubai
Recently it was announced that the final height of this tower will be 1200 meters.
That would make it more than 30% taller than the Burj Dubai and three times as tall as
the Empire State Building
The Burj al Alam, or The World Tower. Upon completion it will rank as the world's highest
hotel. It is expected to be finished by 2009. At 480 meters it will only be 28 meters shorter
than theTaipei 101
The Trump International Hotel & Tower, which will be the centerpiece of one of the palm islands, The Palm Jumeirah.
Dubailand. Currently, the largest amusement park collection in the world is Walt Disney World
Resort in Orlando, which is also the largest single-site employer in the United states with
58,000 employees. Dubailand will be twice the size.
Dubailand will be built on 3 billion square feet (107 miles^2) at an estimated $20 billion price tag.
The site will include a purported 45 mega projects and 200 hundred other smaller projects.
]
Currently, the Walt Disney World Resort is the #1 tourist destination in the world. Once fully
completed, Dubailand will easily take over that title since it is expected to attract 200,000 visitors
daily
The Dubai Marina is an entirely man made development that will contain over 200 highrise
buildings when finished. It will be home to some of the tallest residential structures in the
world. The completed first phase of the project is shown. Most of the other high rise buildings
will be finished by 2009-2010.
Some of the tallest buildings in the world, such as Ocean Heights and The Princess Tower, which
will be the largest residential building in the world at over a 100 stories, will line the Dubai Marina.
The UAE Spaceport would be the first spaceport in the world if construction ever gets under way.
I'm not joking...
Some other crazy .. The Dubai Metro system, once completed, will become the largest fully
automated rail system in the world. The Dubai World Central International Airport will become
the largest airport in size when it is completed. It will also eventually become the busiest airport
in the world, based on passenger volume. There are more construction workers in Dubai than
actual citizens.
Top Asian most expensive Cities - Asia's finest

Tokyo surged past Seoul to become the most expensive city in Asia for foreigners. And Beijing is now more expensive than New York City.
By Tina Wang, Forbes
Those looking to live the good life in Beijing had better have fat wallets. Maintaining a business-class lifestyle in the 2008 Summer Olympics’ host city now costs more than living in New York City for the first time since 2004. In the booming Chinese capital, a cup of coffee and an international newspaper at the start of your workday will set you back $10.60, compared with $5.75 in the Big Apple.
But that's nothing compared to Tokyo, where rent on a luxury two-bedroom unfurnished apartment goes for a whopping $5,128.84 a month, uncooked spaghetti costs more than twice as much as in New York, and domestic cleaning help runs at $18.46 an hour.
That's enough to make Tokyo Asia's most expensive city, according to Mercer's 2008 Cost of Living Survey, released July 24. The firm conducts the survey to guide multinationals and governments on devising pay packages for their employees abroad. It takes New York as the base, against which all other cities are compared on a cost of living index that factors costs of housing, food, transport, clothing, household goods and entertainment. About 200 items, ranging from a burger to dry cleaning, comprise the "basket of goods" evaluated in 26 Asian cities.
Singapore ranked fifth behind Seoul, South Korea; Hong Kong; and Osaka, Japan, in spots two through four, respectively.
Due to a weak dollar, they and No. 6 Beijing are more expensive for foreigners to maintain their lifestyle than in New York City.
Behind the numbers
This year, record inflation levels powered Tokyo's surge to overtake Seoul as the most expensive city in Asia for expatriates. In the infamously pricey Japanese capital, the pace of inflation in the past two months is the decade's highest, at 1.5% in May and 1.9% in June over a year earlier.
With a government eager to boost exporters by reining in currency appreciation, second-ranking Seoul became about 7% cheaper than Tokyo for foreigners. It dropped two places to be fifth-priciest city in the world, as the won weakened slightly against the dollar.
Traditional Asian business heavyweight Hong Kong slipped slightly this year, becoming a little less expensive compared with New York City than last year. But on a tiny island that is an international business hub, rent prices have nowhere to go but sky-high. A luxury, two-bedroom, unfurnished apartment costs an astronomical $6,412 a month, compared with $4,500 in Moscow, the world's most expensive city for foreigners, and more than $4,900 in London, which ranks second.
With high inflation levels and the government's loosening of the yuan, which has steadily gained against the dollar, business hub Shanghai, China, moved up two spots to rank 24th in the world, at just under 2% less expensive than New York.
On the rupee's strengthening against the dollar, the Indian cities of Mumbai and New Delhi shot up four places and 13 places, respectively, in world rankings, to take over the bottom two spots of Asia's 10 most expensive cities.
A luxury two-bedroom apartment rents for an astounding $4,533 a month in Mumbai, which ranks 48th in the world, compared with $3,388 in Seoul. The cost of labor is still much cheaper than in East Asian cities, though, as domestic cleaning help costs $3.78 an hour, versus $6.69 in Beijing, $8.47 in Seoul and $18.46 in Tokyo.
Foreigners may face even higher expenses in some Asian cities soon, as governments roll back fuel subsidies. Facing higher oil prices worldwide, countries from China to Indonesia are no longer keeping resource costs as artificially low as before.
Higher domestic energy costs will add inflationary pressure to prices.
Meanwhile, foreigners can find the best deals in Karachi, Pakistan, which at 141st place in the world is the cheapest city in Asia.

Singapore is an unmistakably modern city with its gleaming office towers, bustling port, and vast swank shopping centres. But the thing that strikes most visitors immediately is the greenness of the place. It's not nicknamed the Garden City for nothing. Trees line the roads and parks and gardens offer greenness in profusion. Here we'll look at three of downtown Singapore's most popular and impressive green spots - the Singapore Botanical Gardens, Fort Canning and Haw Par Villa.
Singapore's commitment to nature is most evident in the Botanic Gardens. After all, not many other cities boast 157-acre gardens right in their centres. And it plays an important role in the lives of Singaporeans. Other than oxygenating and beautifying the city and providing a recreation area, the Gardens also houses some specialised plant collections. These include the National Orchid Garden, the Ginger Garden, and the Evolution Garden, all housing rare specimens of flora. For example, the Orchid Garden boasts over 20,000 plants on display.
Another feature of the Gardens is Symphony Lake, a venue for outdoor concerts. The gardens also play an important educational role. This takes the form of the Children’s Garden which aims to cultivate an appreciation in young people for plants, nature and the environment.
Another city centre park is Fort Canning located on Singapore’s main strip of Orchid Road. Established in 1859 as an arms store, barracks and hospital, Fort Canning was in fact the location of original botanical gardens of Singapore established by Singapore’s founder Sir Stamford Raffles in 1822. You can see the prototype of the original 19-hectare botanical garden in the form of the Spice Garden in Fort Canning.
Fort Canning is also a historical treasure house containing artefacts dating back to the 14th century and the bungalow where Sir Stamford Raffles once lived.
Other than its green areas, Fort Canning is a popular centre for the arts with regular art and sculpture exhibitions, plays and open-air ballet performances.
Finally we look at a park more intriguing for its displays than its greenery, namely the famous Tiger Balm Gardens now known as Haw Par Villa (Villa of the Tiger and Leopard). It was built by two brothers who'd made a fortune from the menthol and camphor rub named Tiger Balm. They opened the gardens in the 1930s with the aim of teaching traditional Chinese values. The mode of teaching was via over 1000 statues and 150 tableaux representing Chinese legends.
In 1985, the park was transformed into an amusement park with most of the original exhibits replaced with playground rides. This procedure proved unpopular and was later reversed. Among the attractions gracing the gardens are a giant sumo wrestler, Thai dancers and a huge gorilla.
A recent addition to Haw Par Villa is the Jade House which showcases the family's extensive collection of jade items.
Admission to the ground is free though there's a small charge to enter the Jade House.
So the next time you visit Singapore, don't just go shopping and swanning around the quays. Remember that this green and leafy city state is a premier location for nature sight-seeing, too. When visiting Singapore, be sure to have a reservation, because hotels in Singapore could be fully booked in high season. Of course the Internet offers many opportunities to book Singapore hotels in advance.

Hiring a motorbike in Vung Tau is quite easy. As we disembarked the hydrofoil, a man offered to lend us his motorbike for two days for VND200,000. After some bargaining, the price dropped to VND120,000.
We started the journey early the following day. We left Vung Tau behind as we crossed the Cua Lap Bridge toward Phuoc Tinh Commune in Long Dien District. Previously, when tourists traveled from Vung Tau to Minh Dam base or Long Hai, they had to take a roundabout route through Ba Ria. However, the journey today was only half the distance due to newly built roads.
Riding along the coastal road to Minh Dam, we were thrilled by the beautiful scenery, especially the sections of road straddled by mountains and beaches. The road is planted with white and pink cherry blossoms. According to locals, the road is most beautiful in the springtime when the trees are in bloom.
Minh Dam is located in the Chau Long-Chau Vien Mountains on the southeast side of Long Dat District. Minh Dam reaches 355 meters and extends eight kilometers. The mountains were renamed in 1948 after Minh and Dam, two revolutionary martyrs in the liberation troops.
The mountain is bordered on three sides by the sea and has many natural caves and fresh spring water. The mountain served as the military base for the liberation troop against the French and the Americans.
The base is comprised of four main sections - Da Che (split rock), Gieng Gach Pagoda, Chau Vien and Da Giang. Da Che is where important troops were stationed during the war. Gieng Gach Pagoda is located on the north side of the mountain. It is named after an ancient pagoda that was completely destroyed. Chau Vien, the west side of the mountain provided shelter for the army medical corps and security units, while Da Giang is located on the foot of the mountain. Da Giang no longer exists today.
During the two wars, Minh Dam suffered from intense bombing. In fact, bullet holes still remain on the mountain.
We also visited Bach Van Cavern and Bach Van Temple, remnants of Cao Dai religion. We spent two hours exploring the base's caves and climbing to the cavern and the temple where we were able to see a view of the beaches of Long Hai and the coastal road. While we explored the sites, we caught glimpses of wild squirrels and monkeys.
Without enough time to visit near by sites like Monkey Pagoda, we left the base with regret. On our ride back to Vung Tau, we passed by temples, resorts, crescent-shaped beaches and the Co Temple.

The emirate embraces a wide variety of scenery in a very small area. In a single day, the tourist can experience everything from rugged mountains and awe-inspiring sand dunes to sandy beaches and lush green parks, from dusty villages to luxurious residential districts and from ancient houses with windtowers to ultra-modern shopping malls.
The emirate is both a dynamic international business centre and a laid-back tourist escape; a city where the sophistication of the 21st century walks hand in hand with the simplicity of a bygone era.
But these contrasts give Dubai its unique flavour and personality; a cosmopolitan society with an international lifestyle, yet with a culture deeply rooted in the Islamic traditions of Arabia.
Since earliest times, Dubai has been a meeting place, bringing together the Bedouin of the desert interior with the pearl-diver, the merchant of the city with the sea-going fisherman.
Dubai City
Having expanded along both banks of the Creek, Dubai’s central business district is divided into two parts — Deira on the northern side and Bur Dubai to the south — connected by a tunnel and two bridges. Each has its share of fine mosques and busy souks, of public buildings, shopping malls, hotels, office towers, banks, hospitals, schools, apartments and villas.
Outside this core, the city extends to the neighbouring emirate of Sharjah to the north, while extending south and west in a long ribbon of development alongside the Gulf, through the districts of Satwa, Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim.
At first glance, the city presents a predominantly modern face, an ever-changing skyline of new developments, from striking glass and concrete towers to gracious modern buildings incorporating traditional Arabian architectural motifs and features.
The Creek
The Creek, a natural sea-water inlet which cuts through the centre of the city, is the historic focal point of life in Dubai. A stroll along its banks evokes the city’s centuries-old trading traditions.
Visitors will be captivated by the colour and bustle of the loading and unloading of dhows which still ply ancient trade routes to places as distant as India and East Africa.
An attractive way to view the Creek and the dhows is from an abra, one of the small water taxis which criss-cross the Creek from the souks of Deira to those on the Bur Dubai side.
Boatmen will also take visitors on a fascinating hour-long trip from the abra embarkation points to the mouth of the Creek and inland to the Maktoum Bridge, passing on the way many of the city’s historic and modern landmarks.
Redevelopment work has transformed parts of the Creek’s banks. On the Deira side, a broad and well-lit, paved promenade extends from the Corniche, which faces on the Arabian Gulf, all the way to the attractive purpose-built dhow terminal constructed beside Maktoum Bridge.
On the Bur Dubai side between Maktoum and Garhoud bridges, Creekside Park provides pleasant paved walks and extensive landscaped public gardens.
At the inland end of the Creek is a large, shallow lagoon, now a wildlife sanctuary which has become a haven for migrating shore birds. Some 27,000 birds have been counted here at one time during the autumn migration. The most spectacular are the many Greater Flamingos which have made the Creek their permanent home. know more about dubai visit www.gulfbusinessguide.com
