Emerging competition:
Since the late 1990s’, Thailand’s tourism industry faced huge competition from other Asian countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and India. To pace up in the competition, Thailand’s hotels expanded discount services and reservation services. It is expected, in the coming years, competition will be even higher as China and Vietnam have already join the race. It will be interesting to see, how the Thailand hotel industry responds.
